patara beach
Patara Beach is a beach located approximately 43 km from Antalya's Kaş district. The length of this beach is 12 km and it is the first longest beach in the world with this feature. It is one of the heavens on earth with its fine sand and deep blue sea. On the other hand, Caretta turtles prefer this place to lay their eggs. That's why you can only enter the beach from eight in the morning until eight in the evening. The beach and its surroundings are a natural protected area, which has kept the region and this beauty untouched. There is only one establishment operated by the municipality around the beach and you can rent sunbeds from here if you wish. Those who want to be alone with nature and swim in the sea can take their backpack and relax in this beautiful place.
The Most Beautiful Sunset
Patara beach is one of the most beautiful places in our country where you can watch the sunset. Since the Mediterranean Ocean has an open sea, it has a very windy sea. This makes the area a great option for surfers as well. For those who want to stay here, the closest center is Gelemis Village. You can find different accommodation options in the village, from boutique hotels to pensions. You can reach the region, which is 81 km from Fethiye and 43 km from Kaş, by minibuses that serve between these two districts. If you do not have a private vehicle, you first take the minibus or bus and get off in Ovakent. Afterwards, you come to Patara by following a beautiful 3.5 km walking path.
Patara Beach Sand Dunes
Those who like old Turkish movies have also come across movies set in the desert from time to time. These desert landscapes were generally shot in Patara. There are naturally formed dunes in some parts of this magnificent and pristine beach. By climbing these, you can see beautiful landscapes and take many photos. Patara Ancient City
Since every corner of Antalya is more beautiful than the other, this place was discovered by different civilizations a long time ago. You should also visit the ancient city of Patara, right next to Patara Beach. The largely preserved ancient theater will fascinate you. In addition, you will have a historical tour while walking among the ruins of the city consisting of baths, necropolises and basilicas.
What can be eaten in Patara?
As we said, there is a place where you can only rent sunbeds in the immediate vicinity of Patara Beach. But if you go towards Gelemis Village, you can find different kinds of restaurants here. The most popular dish in the region is pita with cubes.
